Lucence’s UV/LED lash system leverages a specially formulated cyanoacrylate adhesive that cures almost instantly when exposed to a targeted UV‑LED light. A photo initiator enables on‑demand curing when theLucence LED light is shown on the adhesive. Now your bonds polymerize(cure) on demand, independent of environmental factors. This streamlines workflow, offering faster and more reliable results than traditional moisture‑cure adhesives.
We’re not just product providers—we’re lash artists, industry educators, advocates and mentors with a combined 35+ years each as professional beauty & wellness operators. Lucence USA delivers fresh, premium-grade adhesives made on demand, plus onboarding Zoom sessions full of expert tips and tricks to maximize your UV/LED lashing experience, whether you're a student, new or seasoned lash artist.
After isolating and placing the extension, the eyelash being extended is exposed for 1-3 seconds to the UV‑LED light (ours are 405 nm wavelength, low intensity, no heat), triggering instant polymerization of the adhesive. This immediate cure eliminates guesswork tied to humidity or temperature. *Important - because our Series I adhesives contain 90% ethyl-2 cyanoacrylate, they may connect, but not properly cure until exposed to the LED light beam. It is of paramount importance that you position the lash precisely before shining the light device onto the extension bond area. Even brief exposure to the light will begin the process.
Yes—when used correctly. The Lucence system uses low-level intensity 405 nm wavelength LED, which is safe for both eyes and skin, especially with proper precautions like ensuring the client keeps their eyes closed. Certifications such as CE, FCC, RoHS, LVD, EMC and EN62471(synonymous with IEC62471) back our safety claims. The photobiology test reports identify our Elite and Prestige devices as “Exempt” or no risk to the eyes or skin.
The honest answer is “possibly”. Most clients find UV/LED adhesives more comfortable than traditional options. There are dramatically fewer vapors, fewer red eyes after the service, and a good number of lash artists have already been able to welcome back some clients who had previously had to give up their lash extensions due to sensitivities and irritation.
Eye Protection Options: The only non-negotiable protection is that the clients keep their eyes closed during the lash service. Additionally, you may opt to use UV-blocking tape or UV400 glasses for added safety, however our photobiology reports state that no PPE is required at all for client or practitioner with regards to skin and eye safety.
Low Light Intensity: The LED light is just 5 W—far less intense than household lights, nail lights or tanning beds. The output of light (irradiance) is also exceptionally low and gentle.
Minimal Exposure Time: Typically just 1–3 seconds per lash; even a full set lasts just a few minutes of total exposure time.
The relationship of all three of these factors, plus the UV LED adhesive formulation is where the alchemy lies. Please participate in our FREE continuing education to fully understand and master UV LED lashing with Lucence devices and products.
Unopened, adhesive remains viable for up to 6-9 months. Once opened, it stays effective for about 2 months if stored properly. Lucence considers “proper storage” as
Yes! Lucence’s UV/LED system is compatible with any lash extension lashes. When selecting adhesive holders, choose ones that don’t reflect light and situate them in your work station setup so that the dispensed adhesive is not exposed to the LED light for optimal results.
Pre‑service: Clean and thoroughly rinse the client’s lashes prior to application to remove all pollutants, oily film, makeup and debris. This should be done by you as a professional service to ensure that your work will have the best, longest lasting bonds.
Aftercare: Cleanse the eye area and lashes once finished applying extensions. HOCl (hypochlorous acid) is our highest recommendation for cleaning, soothing and providing the most comfortable, eye safe and pH balanced results. *This step may be a key factor in elevating your client’s eyelid and lashline comfort!
There’s no need to delay water, steam, or makeup—UV‑cured lash pairs are ready to roll with your client’s lifestyle without restrictions.
UV/LED curing cuts lashing time significantly—some studios report saving 30–50% of application duration, thanks to the instant bond. The real time saving will be realized at the subsequent touch-up lash appointments. As you master this method, you will see stronger results - meaning significantly more lashes returning in good shape for touch ups.
Expect your LED lamp (light bulb) to remain effective for approximately 30,000 hours—that's years of consistent performance with proper treatment of the device. The internal wiring or charging capabilities may not last as long if not properly handled, cleaned and stored. One full charge should last for between 1500-2000 ignitions of the lamp. Once your Lucence LED device begins blinking three times as opposed to a steady light display, you will have 20-25% battery charge left. The triple blink will still properly cure your Lucence UV LED Adhesive, and will continue in this triple blink fashion to remind you to plug the device in for charging.
If the client is pregnant or breastfeeding (without doctor approval) or has conditions like active skin infections anywhere on the face and especially the eye area, open wounds, photosensitivity, epilepsy, recent laser/IPL treatments, or is on photosensitizing medications, it’s best to avoid use or seek medical advice first. If the practitioner is taking medications that create photosensitivity or experiences any health issues, diseases or disorders like epilepsy or seizures, they should not offer this service.
Yes, overhead lights pose no interference. The UV/LED adhesive requires a specific spectrum and intensity to cure—general salon lighting or treatment table lighting won’t affect the system or initiate the curing of the adhesive..
Keep adhesive away from UV and ambient light when not in use. Use UV protective bags or airtight adhesive containers. Keep it stored in cool, consistent temperatures. Do not refrigerate or freeze Lucence UV LED Adhesive.
